Life as a banker

It was in the year 2000, our commerce teacher told our class on working in a Bank. I found his lecture very interesting and thought of joining a Bank in future. My dream came true, I joined Bank of Bhutan on 5th April 2005 at Damphu Branch.
On my first day I did not had a chair to sit and no work to do too. On the second day Branch Manager introduced me to all the Branch staffs. I was given a chair where i could park my ass. First thing that I learned was to write the Transfer Book. Thinking back this was the very basic thing every Banker had to know. On doing so, I learned to differentiate what was credit and debit voucher, draft voucher, TT voucher etc ... Within one week we i could understand and was perfect on updating the transfer book. After that learning in other banking module started. Time passed by and after 8 months I could help and explain our product to the customers.

Then I was transfer to Phuentsholing Main Branch, this was totally new working environment and style of working to me as Damphu Branch was manual and the new branch was on Druk banker (computerize). I was placed in Bills section which was not there in Damphu branch as it was a small branch. Then one after another learned and month passed by.

to be continued.......
